Though not generally known, meditation has been part of the Jewish practice for thousands of years. It serves to come nearer to the Holy One, and to become a better version of oneself. With pleasant side effects like greater effectivity, better relationships, less frustration and more sense of meaning. It does not serve to withdraw from the world, though is is beneficial to do this from time to time. In Judaism the goal is to realise Jewish values in daily life. In the course we will discuss and practice several kinds of Jewish meditations. We wil also speak about the history and development of Jewish meditation
